Affiliate Disclosure

To help offset the costs of administering the blog and free resources provided on bridgetownnutrition.com, I participate in affiliate programs that provide a small commission to me at no additional cost to you.

It’s a win-win scenario.  You get free recommendations of products, services, and resources that I use, love, and recommend to my closest friends and family.  I get help covering the cost of a domain name, website hosting, newsletter fees, etc.

What Are Affiliate Links?

Affiliate links are URLs with a snip in them that identifies that I sent you to a site.  If you make a purchase from that site, the company you are buying from sends me a small monetary “thank you” for the referral.  The amount of the thank you varies by item, but is almost always less than $5, and often less than $1-2.

When linking to products on Amazon, there are often multiple sellers for a particular item.  I go out of my way to make sure I am selecting the most economical option among those offered.  Unfortunately, I have no control over whether the seller changes their price after I have inserted the link, so I encourage you to shop around!  I also do not have control over whether the seller ships your item on time, whether it is packaged properly, or whether you will like it.  But I do my best to help with all factors that are in my control.

When Do I Use Affiliate Links?

All products and services that I link to are things I use myself and recommend to those I love.  No exceptions.

I use affiliate links when I think they will help you in some way.  For example, if the ingredient in a recipe is obscure and probably cannot be found in your local grocery store (such as pumpkin seed protein powder), I link to it so that you know where you can access it.  Or, sometimes I link to products that can be found in your grocery store so that if you click on them, you know what they look like and have an easier time identifying them.

Breakfasts without at least 15-20 grams protein don’t keep me full until lunchtime. This bowl? 28 g protein, 17 g fiber, PLUS antioxidants, healthy fats, and more! 💪🏻
GREEN BANANAS! If you find ones that are fully gre GREEN BANANAS! If you find ones that are fully green and firm, throw them in the fridge to stop the ripening (or peel and slice to keep in the freezer for longer). When ready to eat: peel, slice, and steam for a starchy side for chili, soups, and more. They’re rich in resistant starch, which helps promote a healthy gut microbiome. Ripe bananas (yellow with brown spots) give me acne and make me more congested, but not these 🎉 Gimme all that potassium, magnesium, B6, and resistant starch. Have you tried steamed green bananas?

In honor of May being National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month, I decided to share about this connection I’ve noticed in case it helps anyone else.
