A super simple homemade sausage recipe tolerated by those with even the most sensitive of tummies.
Recipe type: Breakfast
Cuisine: Italian
Serves: 6 small sausage patties
  • ½ lb ground pork (you could also try ground chicken)
  • 2 tsp Casa De Sante Tuscan Seasoning Mix
  • ¼-1/2 tsp red chili flakes (optional)
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper (optional)
  1. Preheat a medium cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Season with salt & pepper. Evenly distribute spices by using a large fork or your hands to incorporate them into the pork. Form into 6 patties.
  3. If you used your hands, don't forget to wash them thoroughly afterward to prevent food poisoning.
  4. Transfer pork patties to preheated skillet. Allow to cook for 3-5 minutes per side or until nice browned on both sides. Avoid pressing down on the sausages as this will cause them to dry out.
  5. Enjoy warm.
I like to make a batch on the weekend and enjoy them during the week alongside the rest of my breakfast. Simply reheat a sausage in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds. One nutritious breakfast idea would be to serve 1-2 sausages with a side of steamed kale (can also be prepped ahead of time) and some blueberries or a banana.
