Healing from small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)– or any chronic illness, really- comes with a lot of trial and error.  The journey toward a healthier you takes time.  It takes learning to listen to your body.  And responding appropriately.

But sometimes, it can feel really hard to listen to your body.  Especially at the beginning when you seem to react to everything.

One of the best pieces of advice that I can give to anyone struggling with SIBO is this: remove the variables!  If you are constantly exposing yourself to toxins that make your body angry and leave your liver burdened, you may be clouding your ability to really listen to your body.

When you have SIBO, your system is already burdened with processing the toxins and resultant inflammation from the overgrowth.  While you are working with your doctor or health care practitioner to address the overgrowth, you can do a lot to clean up your toxic exposure.

I firmly believe that avoiding toxins when possible is key to optimizing healing.  That includes cleaning up your diet, swapping out chemical-laden beauty products for natural alternatives, and ditching the endocrine and cancer-causing materials in your home.

On my shop page, I have added a variety of items that I use and love.  Over the past (nearly) decade, I have been narrowing down my search for effective, clean products at a manageable price point. My hope is to make it easier for you to enjoy a SIBO-friendly, non-toxic lifestyle without compromising quality.

If you have any questions about the products I use- such as how I use them or where to find them (besides online), please leave a comment. And if you would like any additional suggestions- don’t hesitate to ask!

This simple, 4-ingredient, sugar-free iced tea is perfect for summertime- refreshing and rich in minerals (that get lost from sweating). Hibiscus has been most well studied for its blood pressure lowering effects, but it also shows antimicrobial activity against bacteria that cause cavities, staph infections, and food poisoning.
